Wine Art FeatureFriday, July 5th from 6:30p to 8p, Wine Tasting of Linganore Winecellars happening in Laurel at the scenic and historic Snow Hill Manor while tasting wines provided by some of the best vineyards and wineries in Maryland. Joes Movement EmporiumSaturday, July 6th, Summer Dance Culminating Performance at Joe’s Movement Emporium. Tickets are $20.  Joe’s is located at 3309 Bunker Hill Rd. Mount Rainier , MD 20712; Contact them at 301-699-1819; www.joesmovement.org.  Program will include the new choreographic works from the most talented visionaries in the DC Metro area; as well as bring to close the 2nd Annual very special summer dance program. This year “Summer Dance Experience” became the official summer dance place of the newly created Vision Contemporary Dance Ensemble (on Instagram “@visioncontemporarydance” or on Facebook “Vision Contemporary Dance Ensemble”), under the artistic direction of the legendary Katherine Smith.

 

National HarborSaturday, July 6th, 7:00p-9:00p.  Pops on the Potomac at National Harbor and it’s FREE of charge.  This Saturday’s Pops on the Potomac features special guest band The Jeff Johnson Band! This band will perform all of your favorites, including oldies and Motown!  With the riverfront sunset as their breathtaking backdrop, the acclaimed Orchestra at National Harbor is set to take the stage again this summer for Pops on the Potomac. Black Alley BandWednesday, July 10th, 6:30p-8:30p, PGCo’s Department of Parks and Recreation presents Concerts in the Park for Music Lovers: “Black Alley Band“. Check them out online HERE.  Concert held at the Tucker Road Athletic Complex, 1771 Tucker Road, Fort Washington 20744.  Kick back, relax and let your mind and soul enjoy a few hours of great entertainment by some of the area’s hottest bands. Bring your picnic baskets, lawn chairs, blankets, family and friends. Lake Arbor Jazz FestivalBIG BIG EVENT!! Lake Arbor Jazz Festival 2013 happening this weekend.  YES Prince George’s County has it’s own grown people’s soiree. Takes place Saturday, July 13, 2013, 12:00 – 9:00 PM, Lake Arbor Community Center Grounds, 10100 Lake Arbor Way Mitchellville, MD 20721. Tickets are $10 in advance, $15 the day of the event, children 12 and under get in for free but really, why bring a young child to this? Get out and enjoy your grown self at the Lake Arbor Jazz Festival.  Guests include Secret Society, Deborah Bond, Bob Baldwin, Shelby Brown, Allan King, Collaboration, Symphonyk Avenue, and Eric Darius.  Now that’s a line up.  Get your tickets QUICK.  The all day VIP tickets are SOLD out so click HERE for ticket sales at Eventbrite.  Tickets are still available for the Friday, July 12th Fundraiser featuring Marion Meadows and Art Sherrod.

 

 

Merrell Mud RunSunday, July 21, The Merrell National Mud Run Obstacle Course series has finally come to the Washington, DC area! Registration is open now for the July 21 event to be held at Prince George’s Stadium.  Check their website HERE.  Compete in the pull up contest, test your skills on the 5K or 10K courses, challenge yourself in tunnels, the monkey cross and slippery mountain! Let your child have a ball on the children’s course. Location: Prince George’s Stadium 4101 Crain Highway, Bowie, MD 20716

Plate ForksBaltimore Restaurant Week is July 26th to August 4th: Restaurants offer special three-course menus for Baltimore Restaurant Week. Get a taste of Baltimore with specially crafted three-course prix-fixe dinner menus for $30.13 and $20.13.
