New Food! Ripken Burgers & Spice 6 Indian Fare (Demo)

Legendary baseball great Cal Ripken is hoping for a homer in the frozen burger arena.

Spice 6, casual Indian restaurant, open in Hyattsville Arts District.

Cal Ripken Gourmet Burger

Ripken has teamed with Maryland company, Roseda Beef, to produce the new Cal Ripken Gourmet Burger.  According toreports, a box of 4 burger retails for $9.99.  Giant Food grocery store is the only store in the DMV carrying the product and only 30 stores currently have the burgers.  Don’t panic, one of those stores is the Largo, MD Giant; spoke with this this morning to confirm.  Now I haven’t tried these burgers yet but may hit them up this weekend just for kicks.  Support our local businesses, especially those local to Maryland.  We’ve got to rebuild this economy because our politicians are determined to tax/fine us into oblivion.

Another place I haven’t tried but looks interesting is Spice 6 on Route 1 in Hyattsville, MD,  5501 Baltimore Avenue, to be exact.  Spice 6 is a modern Indian casual restaurant that allows diners to customize their orders much like Chipotle.  You select different combinations starting with a base protein, adding sauces, sides and extras. The restaurant is open daily in Hyattsville’s popular Arts District.  The restaurant space has an open kitchen that showcases a traditional Tandoor.  Wow, I’m impressed that they have an authentic Tandoor.  Yelp users have reviewed the place favorably.  I’ll check them out.
