Turns out this home invasion was drug money related.  It still is disturbing to have a crime take place in your apartment building.  Two guys broke into an apartment while two other guys waited outside in the get away car on Monday night in the 3500 block of Silver Park Drive.

Gov. O’Malley hosted a breakfast for backers of  gay marriage legislation. He said of the legislation, “We have done our very best in the drafting of this bill to make very, very, very explicit the protections of religious liberty as well as the protection of rights equally under the law, and it’s my hope that that will not only allow more support in the House of Delegates but, as importantly, I hope it will allow more people throughout our state to be able to support this bill.

Prince George’s Department of Parks and Recreation and Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission will have a celebration of persons 90 years young and older.  If you are or know of someone who turned 90 are looking for county residents who celebrated their 90th birthday before or during 2011 to recognize at an event in the spring. Special recognition will be given to centenarians — residents who are 100 years old and older. The date of the event is yet to be determined, but the department requests all candidates be submitted by Feb. 27. Call 301-446-3400 or e-mail public.affairs@pgparks.com with the words “residents 90 & better” in the subject field.

Robert Schwenger of JBG Rosenfeld Retail said that Harris Teeter has shown interest in building at the College Park Shopping Center. Schwenger was a guest at Thursday’s Calvert Hills Citizens Association meeting, where he gauged the community’s interest in having a mixed-use development that would include a Harris Teeter.
