PGCo, did you know… (Demo)

Rosecroft Raceway owner, Penn National,  buying into Maryland Live!
Charming Charlie opens at Bowie Town Center
New Shuttle to National Harbor from Alexandria and DC
Rosecroft Raceway owners, Penn National Gaming MIGHT (wink-wink) buy a stake in Maryland Live!  The Post said that neither David Cordish or Penn National would return their calls about this.  You know that David Cordish is making money with his money and then exchanging it for more money but he wants time to stand still on a casino in Prince George’s County.  I don’t support expanding gambling in the County but if I am somehow 0ut voted, which I doubt, it would serve that whiny, money grubbing David Cordish right.

Washington Post story HERE

So glad to hear Charming Charlie Accessory Store opened in Bowie Town Center.  Bowie Patch reports that in addition to the store carrying some of the cutest purses, earrings, and accoutrements, the store only stocks 6 of each item so there’s a better likelihood that you and 27 other ladies won’t show up to church blinging in the same stuff.  HA! See WEBSITE HERE to sign up for emails.
Gaylord HotelNow you can take a shuttle bus to National Harbor  from the King Street Metro, Union Station in DC, and the Old Post Office Pavilion.  My question (clears throat):  How you gonna neglect to put a shuttle stop in PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY WHEN NATIONAL HARBOR IS LOCATED IN PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY?!!!  The shuttle is free for office workers, hotel guests, and residents.  The general peasants public will have to cough up $10 for a one way trip.  Woo!  Must be a really nice bus.  Check the schedule HERE for information on route and service times.

Thanks for this great post! Let me start off by saying that I do support expanded gambling in the county and specifically the type of place that County Executive Baker supports at National Harbor. I have been a resident of Prince George’s County since 1986 and I have watched as we are on the losing end of the stick for so many retailers and amenities. It is a given that we (PG residents) will go to Montgomery, Howard, Ann Arundel and Virginia to shop so there is no skin lost for these business owners or if they locate in the county, the stores don’t have the same extensive selection. This is why I support anything that continues to make the National Harbor a great source of revenue and jobs. The other thing that makes me know that I want this is when I look at the depths that the opposition is mining to oppose it. For instance, a friend mentioned a “polling” call the other night and when she mentioned that she was in favor, the “poller” began to explain why she shouldn’t be in favor of Question #7. We have since learned that this is what is called a “push poll”. If others are like me and don’t know what it is, wikipedia defines it as, “A push poll is an interactive marketing technique, most commonly employed during political campaigning, in which an individual or organization attempts to influence or alter the view of respondents under the guise of conducting a poll. In a push poll, large numbers of respondents are contacted, and little or no effort is made to collect and analyze response data. Instead, the push poll is a form of telemarketing-based propaganda and rumor mongering, masquerading as a poll. Push polls may rely on innuendo or knowledge gleaned from opposition research on an opponent. They are generally viewed as a form of negative campaigning.[1]. This tactic is commonly considered to undermine the democratic process.”
Excited about Charming Charlie’s at BTC and yeah, what’s up with no shuttle in PG?
