Friday, August 19th

Movies on the Potomac at National Harbor showing  “Cutting Edge.”  Movies begin just after sunset and it’s free to the public.  Lawn chairs are recommended, no coolers with food or alcohol are allowed.

Summer Outdoor Movies at College Park Aviation Museum, showing “How to Train Your Dragon.”  Doors open at 7 pm, movie starts at 9 pm; 1985 Cpl. Frank Scott Drive, College Park.  Cost $4/adults, $3/seniors, $2/ages 2-18, FREE/children under 2.  More information here.

FestAfrica: Official African Festival for the State of Maryland. Saturday & Sunday August 13-14, 2011 – Silver Spring, MD. Green and Gorgeous Fashion Gala at the National Harbor, 6:00p to 11:oopm at the .  Hosted by actress April Watts and Wisdom Martin from WTTG Fox 5 News.  VIP Tickets $100 / General Admission $75.00.  A portion of ticket proceeds go to the charity The Heart Truth, an organization who’s focus is making women more aware of the danger of heart disease.  More information and ticket purchase HERE
