Seat Pleasant City Center Groundbreaking (Demo)

Seat Pleasant’s new 15 acre City Center will break ground on September 29th, in Seat Pleasant on 15 acres of land.  The historic project is headed by Seat Pleasant Mayor Eugene W. Grant, who is the chairperson of the planning committee.  The big event takes place tomorrow, Saturday, September 29th, Goodwin Park at 6013 Addison Road, Seat Pleasant, Maryland, 10am to 2pm. The event will be headlined by Raheem DeVaughn and Chrisette Michelle.
 



This City Center project site will have as a central feature the City of Seat Pleasant LEED-Platinum City Hall building.   This 36,000 square foot municipal building will house a majority of the government functions and will serve as the central building in the City Center Project.  The 15 acre site will also include a 12,600 sf Youth & Training Center, senior Housing (4 bldgs. 16,800 sf each),  5 Acres of open space for senior living , bike/walking trails, sports fields, commercial space, and retail.  All buildings will be LEED Certified or at minimum energy star rated
This sustainable and totally green development will be the largest LEED-Platinum planned municipal development in the country among populations of 10,000 and below.
Radio One’s Sheila Stewart will be the Official Cermony MC.  There will be live performances from Gospel Recording Artist Stephen Hurd, “Concert MC” DJ “The Noise Maker” Rico,  performer Kevin Ryan, aka, “Deleono” & Washington DC’s own Kenny Iko.  NBA Ambassador & Eight Time Boston Celtics World Champion Tom “Satch” Sanders, DJ D-Nitty on the turn tables, and local performances from up and coming stars like teenager, Wesley Vaughn Mountain of Capitol Heights, MD & Makenna Burns, a young vocal performing artist.  You must RSVP to attend.
