The Capital Wheel Turn Around in PGCo (Demo)

I’m really curious to hear what you think of The Capital Wheel coming to National Harbor.  The Peterson Cos. is pulling out all the stops to make National Harbor a major destination and I’m all for it, but I don’t live in that area.  Growing up in DC, I’m accustomed to large monuments, iconic structures like the Big Chair being a part of our neighborhoods.  I wonder what the residents of National Harbor have to say about the structure?  Hmmmm.   Also note that T.J.  Maxx is hiring at the new Ritchie Station store and the Marriott in College Park has been renovated, renamed and made snazzy by way of better food at The Common restaurant and free wi-fi throughout the hotel.  Yes!
National Harbor Capital WheelNational Harbor is bringing a 175 feet ferris wheel to its Potomac River waterfront.   The Capital Wheel is set to debut in May 2014.  I see what they’re doing and while I wouldn’t necessarily want to look out my window and see The Capital Wheel everyday, I can see how it would be something interesting to view for those taking in the National Harbor experience.  The $15 million Capital Wheel will offer 12- to 15-minute rides inside 42 closed, climate-controlled gondolas, each seating eight and operate year-round. The cost for rides is $15, more for the VIP gondola.  At night the Capital Wheel will be lit by 1.6 million, multi-coloredLED lights.  Whooo!  It’s being compared to the London Eye in the United Kingdom; one of the most popular paid tourist attractions there. The Capital Wheel will host a variety of public, corporate and private events, with catering available by Wolfgang Puck, whose team will provide creative seasonal concessions.

TJ MaxxT.J. Maxx is hosting a hiring event at the new Ritchie Station store in Capitol Heights January 30th and 31st from 9am to 6pm.  Bring your resume and get yourself hired. Store location is 1751 Ritchie Station Court, Capitol Heights, MD.  The new store is slated to open March 2, 2014.  Good thing because I need new work slacks.
