Friday, September 9th

Prince Georges County Fair:  The fair is at Show Place Arena, 14900 Pennsylvania Ave, Upper Marlboro, Friday 5-11pm, Saturday 11am-11pm, Sunday 11am- 6pm.  This fair offers carnival rides, music, camel rides, a draft horse pull, chain saw carvers (what?) and the bull riding and barrel racing are at no additional cost.  Adult Tickets $6, Children 6-11 $5, Children under 5 – free. Saturday, September 10th


Black Family Reunion:  Held SATURDAY ONLY on the National Mall from 8:00am – 8:30pm, the Black Family Reunion features theme pavilions, food vendors, seminars, health fair, cultural exchanges, and talent stages.  This year’s featured concert artist include Faith Hill, Miguel, DJ Kid Capri, and Hezekiah Walker.  See the website HERE for more information on the prayer breakfast.

Bowie Community Shred:  Open to Bowie residents; NOT OPEN to businesses.  Bring all types of documents; no need to remove staples from documents.  Event takes place 8am-2pm, in the parking lot of Bowie High School, 15200 Annapolis Rd, Bowie. Each household is limited to five boxes or five kitchen trash bags. For more information, call the Public Works Department at 301-809-2344.
Arts of Foot: Sat 09/10 -11am-7pm  Sun 09/11 – 11am-6pm; 8th & F Streets – Penn Quarter.  Making its 19th anniversary Arts on Foot festival debuts the upcoming performing and visual arts season in Penn Quarter. The free festival offers an interactive and cultural experience including a fine art market, crafts, theatre, dance, music, film, cuisine and wine. Event is FREE.  See Website for more information.
Alexandria Festival of the Arts:  The 9th Annual Alexandria Festival of the Arts will offer paintings, life-size sculptures, jewelry, photography, ceramics and more. This popular outdoor event will feature art for every taste and budget, with prices ranging from $20 to $20,000. Adams Morgan Day Festival:  33rd Adams Morgan Day Festival. 12pm – 7pm, Stroll colorful storefronts and sidewalk cafes and enjoy the neighborhood scale and local businesses away from the mall and downtown. Features famous Columbia and Florida live music stages which bookend 18th Street NW.
