FRIDAY, Sept. 16th

Crab Feast!  The Ivy Foundation in Association with AKA Sorority, Xi Zeta Omega Chapter is sponsoring a crab feast and dinner buffet at Martins Crosswinds, 7400 Greenway Center, Greenbelt. 7:30-11:30p.  Tickets are $60 ($16.20 tax deductible)  See Eventbrite for ticket information.
Howard Homecoming Model Walkoff:  Witness modeling troops battle in a flare of fashion. Taking place at Blackburn Center, 2400 Sixth Street NW

The Kronos Quartet with David Krakauer at the University of Maryland’s Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center, Stadium Drive College Park, MD 20742 301-405-ARTS .  The Kronos Quartet brings its eclectic, no-holds-barred approach to contemporary music along with David Krakauer, has mastered classical chamber music, eastern European Jewish klezmer music and avant-garde improvisation.   Concert starts at 8pm.  Tickets $9-$45. Greenbelt Blues Festival The eighth annual festival features local blues acts, plus artists, merchants, food and drink. The festival begins in the outdoor square at the Roosevelt Center, then moves indoors to the Greenbelt Cafe at night. The lineup: Jonny Grave and the Tombstones, the Paulverisers, Mike Westcott Band, KERQ, Lady Rose Blues Band, Capital Blues Ensemble, Jonny and the Stingrays, Built 4 Comfort, Fast Eddie and the Slowpokes and the Unruly Blues Band. Publick Playhouse Open House:  The new season opens with live entertainment, theatre tours, and fun for the whole family. There will be African drummers, storytelling, bellydance, Zumba, skatemobile, face painting, and more! Sunday, Sept. 18th

105 Voices of History at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C.  This concert will include Jennifer Holliday as the concert host/honoree and Kirk Whalum as the guest artist/honoree.  Presenting conductors include Dr. Eric Conway (Morgan State University), Dr. Gloria Quinlan (Hutson-Tillotson University), and Professor Johnnella Edmonds (Virginia State University).
The concert will begin at 5pm.  Tickets: $20-$65  Available through the Kennedy Center.
